This month I’ve been going through the process of revamping my website and it will include a bunch of new work! That should be up and running very soon, but in the meantime, here are some projects I’ve been working on over the past few months:
“Red Herring” – My piece for Light Grey Art Lab’s Message in A Bottle exhibition as part of the Resolve to Make: 2013 workshop led by Kali Ciesemier. I was inspired by the idea of going through the entire grueling process of decoding a secret only to discover you’ve been deceived the whole time! The Resolve to Make workshop was a truly inspiring and invigorating experience and I continue to be amazed by how friendly, giving, and encouraging all the artists are that I met and worked with over that weekend. You can read more about the event on the LGAL blog and on Kali’s blog and you can check out all the pieces from the workshop here (put them all together and they spell out a top secret message!)
I don’t know how it happened, but Adam and I have trained our cats to be SUPER cuddly. This is a pretty accurate depiction of how our little family falls asleep most nights. Created as an experiment to try out some new watercolor paints. I’ve worked digitally for so long that I really want to bring back some traditional media into my workflow. More little paintings like this to come I’m sure!
Pet portrait pillows that served as family Hanukkah and Xmas gifts this year (inspired by the Winsor and Orson pillows I created earlier this year). Created in illustrator and printed via Spoonflower. I love making these little guys and have ideas for more stuffed animal creatures that I want to make in the near future!
